So, I was assigned this problem and I don't know what to do.

Find the difference quotient for the function 3-x2-x using [f(x+h)-f(x)]/h

This isn't on the A-level maths syllabus (AKAIK), but I will try and do it later - I'd just be using this video (or others) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1O5NEI8UuHM , so maybe try and use that in the meantime.

Never done this before but I know the first step is to put the (x+h) where ever you see an x

What are you planning on doing at university next year (assuming you're intending on going to university next year)? :)

Oh yes I went to the Nottingham open day (good university, but a bit big for me imo) - also Surrey has Jim Al-Khalili who is amazing. So far I've got Bath, Warwick, Durham (going to Durham open day tomorrow[6 hour drive..]) and Imperial. Not sure on the 5th yet..

bath is meant to be amazing.  Genius at my school got A*A*A*A* and denied Cambridge to go to Bath
